Great story, great artwork. Some very essential details are missing, though, like the fact it was the CIA who helped track down and imprison Nelson Mandela. Minor detail, perhaps, but important.
Wonderful...
This is another biography trying to cash in on the current interest in Mandela's life. The book is loosely written and I wonder about the truths of some assertions and lack of documentation. It glorifies a plain man, who was blessed.
I purchased this graphic novel for my son on Friday and he has not put it down! Having a 4th grader who loves all things comics, I was really exited when I ran across this graphic novel in my local bookstore. The graphics are appealing as they capture the reader's attention before the words compel you to read further. Having a 4th grader who enjoys reading but has to be steered away from comics, this was a great find. It gives him content while allowing him to have a visual engagement. Its a good way to introduce meatier topics, reference points etc while not overwhelming him. I can't wait to find more!
Great book but all of my pages are out of order starting around page 100. I really don't know if this was just with my book or all of the printed books.
