The Merck's Manual itself is great, this Kindle book is worthless. Just go to the Gutenberg dot org and get that one for free, it's identical...as in neither is indexed or has any other enhancements to make this book easy to search through. I downloaded the Gutenberg version, but I thought this Kindle version, for a price would at least have the indexing and contents pages...nope. Nothing. Poor effort. At least the Gutenberg Project books are free and part of their organization's attempt to preserve old books.

Cool old stuff from the medical world.

As a pharmacist, I enjoy seeing what was available around the turn of the century. Don't expect a modern Merck's Manual, but it's fun to page through and see what was available in the past.

For such a small book, this has information in it that would be hard to find anywhere. Funny, sort of, is today knowledge is stolen from us, history rewritten, and the one's we trust to help heal us only feed of our misery. at least with this you can gain the know how to treat yourself.Turpentine for instance, known years ago for healing property's, today has a great big label on it that warns of the health hazard of ingesting it,, well if you can get past the label and take a leap of faith you will notice there are a great benefits to using it,, do your home work, seek knowledge and you will find it,,

makes a fun light reading if you are medically inclined. some of the crazy stuff that is in there is amusing to think about now, though would be horrifying if actually used. there is a recommended use for arsenic in there. as well as mercury and whatnot. its cool to see how far we've come.
