Ever since I wrote Show Your Work I've been fielding requests for more examples - and I admit I didn't expect to find them (mountains of them!) in a book aimed at people who teach kids. But Tolisano and Hale have assembled an exciting, informative, inspiring, visually rich compendium of ideas to spark new thinking and spur reflection for learners and workers of any age. This big book covers everything from documenting things -- processes, engagement, flow -- to how and when to use different tools and approaches, like video, text, and public sharing like blogging. This would be a great resource for any teacher but also for adults interested in or guiding the process of documenting with the goal of sharing and amplifying ideas, leaving useful instructions for the next person stepping into a role or picking up a task where a predecessor left off, for sharing ways of working out across organizational silos or communities, or otherwise breaking out of the familiar, and mostly useless, report-activities mindset. I'd say a good 90% of the content is relevant to adults and workforce learning/documentation. A truly excellent, valuable resource!

This is a detailed, in-depth guide to how to document learning for learners of any age. The majority of examples cited in the book focus on primary school students and teachers, but this is a manual that will prove useful to teachers of any grade level, higher education faculty, trainers, and self-directed learners. The authors describe various processes and tools for making learning visible and provide instruction on how to share that learning with local and global networks. QR codes throughout the book take the reader to additional resources and examples. More careful proofreading was needed, but the typos are not frequent enough to frustrate the reader. This is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to track, assess, and share their own learning or the learning of others.

This is an incredibly useful book, in that it provides ideas and structures for keeping track of information, always a classroom challenge --especially in the upper levels when information on 100 -150 or (200) students needs to be tracked.It challenges teachers to think about how to make learning visible. How do we show a student's work, or help them to show it, in the best possible light? How do we demonstrate, or help students, to show their work in the best possible light?This is an excellent resource.
